What is WB JECA?

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam for Computer Application, commonly known as WB JECA is the exam for admission to MCA courses. The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) conducts the WBJECA every year for admission in the colleges of West Bengal.  Candidates interested in MCA admission in West Bengal need to appear in WBJECA and qualify for the exam.

WB JECA 2022 Application Form

The application form of WB JECA 2022 has been closed. The application form was available online on the official website wbjeeb.in/jeca from January 25 to February 1. The facility of application form correction was open from February 3 to 4. Candidates interested in taking admission in the MCA course in West Bengal need to fill the application form within the stipulated date and appear for the exam.  

The process of filling WB JECA application form include online registration, filling up the detailed form, uploading scanned images of photograph and signature, and payment of application fees. Candidates belonging to reserved categories also need to upload the category certificate at the time of filling the application form. The application fee of Rs 500 has to be paid via Net Banking’/ ‘Debit Card’/ ‘Credit Card’ or in cash using Allahabad Bank e-challan.

 

WB JECA 2022 Eligibility Criteria

MCA course in west Bengal is offered by government and private universities, government colleges, and private engineering colleges. Admission to MCA courses in West Bengal is governed by certain eligibility criteria and policies of the state government. Students aspiring to take admission in MCA through WB JECA need to ensure they fulfill all the conditions before filling the application form 

The conditions of eligibility include education qualification criteria, the age limit for candidates aspiring to appear in WB JECA. Students can check below the eligibility conditions which they must fulfil before applying for the exam.

  • The aspirant must be an Indian National
  • Aspirants must have a domicile of West Bengal
  • There is no age limit
  • Conditions of educational qualification as given below

Eligibility

Module 1

  • Aspirants must have passed 3 years bachelor's degree program from a university recognized by UGC.
  • They should have secured at least 60% marks in Honors/Aggregate(45% for SC/ST aspirants) OR
  • Aspirants should have a Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) from institutes/colleges recognized by the All India Institute of Common Entrance Examination (AICTE) with 60 per cent in mathematics at the bachelor's level.

Module 2

  • They must have a UGC and/or AICTE recognized bachelor’s degree of 3 years except for BBA with mathematics at 10+2 or graduate level.
  • Obtained 50% marks(45% marks for SC/ST/OBA – A/OBC – B candidates) at graduation level.

Module 3

  • Aspirants must have completed graduation or equivalent degree under (10+2+3) pattern in any discipline from a UGC/AICTE recognized University/Institute.
  • Aspirants must have Mathematics as one of the subjects at each level of education.
  • Aspirants must have secured 60% marks (45% marks for SC/ST/OBC-A/O>BC-B candidates) at each level of education.

Module 4

  • Aspirants must have obtained a BSc Honours degree under (10+2+3) pattern in any discipline from a UGC recognized University/Institute with a minimum of 60% marks in Aggregate (45% marks for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates) along with at least 55% marks in Mathematics.
  • They must secure at least 60% marks in Secondary and Higher Secondary or equivalent level from recognized Boards with at least 60% marks in Mathematics at each level.
  • Aspirants have to secure 60% marks (45% marks for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates) at each level of education. 

 

WB JECA 2022 Syllabus

The West Bengal Board of Joint Entrance Examinations has released the WB JECA syllabus 2022 on the official website. Candiates can check here the details about topics that will be asked in WB JECA 2022 paper. As per the official syllabus announced, the questions in WB JECA 2022 exam will constitute Mathematics, General Aptitude, and Computer Application. The syllabus will include questions from undergraduate Computer Application courses followed in various institutes of India.

 

WB JECA 2022 Exam Pattern 

The exam pattern of WB JECA 2022 has been announced. The WB JECA 2022 question paper will consist of 100 multiple choice questions and the total duration of the exam will be 2 hours. All the questions will be multiple-choice questions with one correct answer. There will also be a negative marking of 0.5 marks for every incorrect answer. 

 

WB JECA 2022 Admit card

The West Bengal Board of Joint Entrance Examination will release WB JECA admit card 2022 on May 12. Admit cards will be available to download on the official website up to May 15. To download the  WB JECA admit card 2022, aspirants will need to enter their WB JECA application number and date of birth. Candidates must ensure that the admit card is not mutilated/distorted/soiled even by accident. Candidates with such admit cards will not be allowed to appear in the exam.

Students will have to fill their four preferred choices of exam cities while filling the application form. The exam authorities will allot one exam city to the candidate, details of which will be mentioned on the WB JECA admit card 2022.

 

WB JECA 2022 Answer Key

The answer key of WB JECA will be released within a week after the conclusion of the exam. WB JECA answer key will be available online on the official website. The board will first release the provisional answer key which will also be open for the challenge up to a certain period of time. Candidates not satisfied with the answers in the provisional key can raise objections online.  The board will review the challenge post which the final WB JECA answer key will be released. 

 

WB JECA 2022 Result

The result of WB JECA 2022 will be declared tentatively in the first week of June. WB JECA result 2022 will be available online on the official website. The result/rank card will have a candidate's merit position, score-card with total marks, marks obtained in each subject. Candidates need to download and take a printout of their WB JECA 2022 result/scorecard as it will be required at the time of counselling and admission process.

 

WB JECA 2022 Counselling

Aspirants who clear the exam need to appear for WB JECA 2022 counselling which will be held tentatively in June. The WB JECA counselling 2022 will be held in online mode. Candidates have to register for participating in the counselling. Students also need to enter the choices of preferred colleges at the time of counselling registration. The allotment of seats will be done on the basis of merit/score in the WB JECA 2022 exam.
